Huge multinationals like Tesco, O2 Telefonica and GlaxoSmithKline are attempting to use the programme instead of hiring workers on proper wages. Tesco attempted to hire 217 Christmas staff in 2011 through the scheme.

Interns are being used in the public sector to cover the gaps left by the recruitment embargo.

Many of the internships on JobBridge are not internships but real jobs which employers are attempting to full with free labour
